Darwin Mindfulness Hub

A calm space for pupils to build focus, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

Introduction

The Darwin Mindfulness Hub is our exclusive space for Darwin pupils. Led by trained teachers, the Hub offers mindfulness classes throughout the academic year. Pupils are invited to take part in our 8-week mindfulness courses, offered twice a year in September and January, alongside weekly mindfulness sessions during term time.

Emotional maturity and focused attention are among the most valuable life skills in the 21st century.  By cultivating mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and self-mastery from a young age, we prepare our pupils with the life skills, confidence, and inner strength to flourish in school, relationships, and the wider world.

What is Mindfulness?

A Practice of Stopping and Noticing

Mindfulness is the practice of directing our attention to the present moment: our breathing, our body sensations, thoughts, emotions, or even everyday activities like walking and eating. Being able to step back from the busy-ness of habitual activity and the relentless chatter of the mind, offers us space and clarity to make better choices and to respond more skilfully to whatever the present-moment throws at us.
